What a brilliant weekend. We arrived at 8:30 on Saturday, once we had got settled, carving commenced.
There were 6 of us with differing skill levels, we all had a ft cubed piece of Fishhill limetone from Broadway in the Cotswolds. It was very shelly and quite difficult to carve!

I will be taking part in the mini stone carving event set in the beautiful surroundings of Highnam Court, Gloucestershire, on the 24th and 25th April 2010.
This is the clay model I will be working from!

This year it is taking place in the Vosgues Mountains in Saverne just North of Strasbourg.
This will take place from the 28th-30th May.

That was amazing, I am exhausted.

I am getting quite nervous now, Flying out tonight- don't get me wrong I am very excited but it's only the second time I have flown.
Anyway, taking a small selection of tools-apparently soap stone is difficult to carve but sands and rubs easily. So I am taking chisels and rifflers.
