House signs.

House names and numbers have been the main stay of my business since I set up Cat’s Eye Carving in 2005.

I use a variety of Forest of Dean sandstones, Welsh and Cornish slate, Portland limestone and French limestone. I can also source other types of stone from around the country.

All my letter cutting is done with a hammer and chisel ensuring a deep v-cut and then you can choose from a wide change of mineral, enamel paints or 23 carat gold leaf.

My prices start from £8/letter, this changes depending on the size and complexity of the letter or character, plus the cost of the stone and these prices depend on the sizes of stone and whether or not you would like paint or gold leaf in the letters/characters.

Please feel free to get in touch via my contact page if you would like me to carve you a house sign.

I currently have an 6 month waiting list.

These are some examples of Forest of Dean sandstone house signs.

Welsh slate is harder to work and more expensive, here are some examples.

House numbers come in all shapes and sizes and colours.

These are some examples of Memorials that I have carved.

Each one is designed with the individual in mind, using their favourite images, fonts, and paint choices.

Some are unpainted, some embellished with glorious paint and gold leaf, but you can trust that I will lovingly create something that you will treasure.

Memorials are a special creation, I can personalise them with images and writing, the type of stone used and the shape surface texture.

Michael Lazenbury’s memorial was carved using his hand writing, I used Ham Hill limestone from Somerset and this is where he was from. There is space for his wife’s details to be added when the time comes.

Sarah Kitt’s memorial featured the mandala pattern and Peony that she had tattooed on her arm, and was carved out of Yorkstone, close to where she was born.

Harry Slattery’s stone featured imagery and paint choices important to him and his family, the family wanted a beautiful, natural piece of Forest of Dean sandstone.
