From small Acorns mighty Oak trees grow

21 September, 2009 – 6:00 pm

Missfire is a year old on 2oth September. For those of you that don’t know, Missfire is Clare Robertson the Artist/Blacksmith at Harts Barn.

We are collaborating on a sculpture, I am carving an acorn-approx 2ft high, this will be the anchor for an Oak tree that Clare is fashioning out of Steel with copper Oak leaves.

The Acorn will be cradled in the metal roots. This sculpture will be unveiled on the anniversary of Clares business.

I hope that you will be able to pop in and have a look.

Summer is here!!

3 August, 2009 – 4:56 pm

Well Summer has started and it’s great to be able to sit outside and carve in the sunshine-between the rain!!

Since returning from Norway, I have found it quite hard to get my teeth sunk into new carvings, with this in mind, I have decided to try my hand at carving animals. Something completely different. At the moment I am carving a Hare.

I have a few commissions to work on, a large gilded house name, a Green man and some Heraldry-but always welcome more commissions!!

I have put three of my carvings at The Brockworth Tithe Barn Arts and Crafts Centre, and may have to take some more over there as I am running out of space in my own workshop.

Hope that you can come and visit me over the coming months.

Carrie.
